Law360, Houston (November 16, 2016, 8:12 PM EST) — Baker Botts LLP has reached a settlement with a former Texas Commission on Environmental Quality employee who sued the firm last year alleging he was fired after it leaked an email he had sent one of its attorneys seeking possible representation in a whistleblower suit.
Kent Langerlan had accused Baker Botts of negligence for forwarding the email, which allegedly outlined claims that “discredit” the TCEQ’s enforcement division based on privileged information known to Langerlan and his girlfriend, another former agency employee.
