Pursuing a wrongful death case

Pursuing a wrongful death case

If you’re interested in pursuing a wrongful death case, you will need proper legal representation. Managing the death of a loved one can be very difficult, let alone if it was something that could have been prevented. While the legal system can’t bring anyone back from the dead, it can help rectify the situation which caused a wrongful death.

The Davis Law Group was founded on the principle that people deserve fair representation in wrongful death suits and getting them the compensation they deserve for consequential costs. Our lawyers work hard to help accident victims cover costs after an incident and to bring some reprieve to the victim’s families. While money can’t always remedy a situation (especially in a wrongful death case), it can certainly help the situation. We pride ourselves on understanding that our clients come to us at times of need and not always under positive circumstances. Our staff is dedicated to being sensitive to each situation and to manage client needs throughout the litigation process.

Unfortunately wrongful death situations do happen — and we’re always here to help our community if they do.

What is wrongful death

Wrongful death can be claimed when someone dies at the hands of another person. The wrongful death typically comes from negligence or misconduct from another person. Wrongful death cases often come after a criminal trial, but they are not limited to these cases.

Some causes of wrongful death:

  • Medical malpractice causing someone’s untimely death
  • Death caused by another person who was found to have intent to harm (sometimes called murder)
  • Workplace injuries or conditions that cause death under hazardous conditions or exposure to substances that eventually causes death
  • Victims of severe accidents on trains, airplanes, automobiles, motorcycles, or other transportation vehicles
  • Malfunctioning of safety equipment (i.e. airbags, seatbelts, harnesses, etc.) while being supervised by a professional or under warranty of the manufacturer

Wrongful death cases can be some of the most trying, but we understand how important they are to pursue, not only for the people who are affected by these cases but also for the memory of the ones who died.

What comes from pursuing a wrongful death case

While monetary compensation cannot bring someone back to life who has been wrongfully killed, it is the legal system’s way of bringing some type of justice to the victim’s families and loved ones. Money can help cover funeral costs, pay off any remaining debt or loans, be passed down to next-of-kin, or used in any way that can help the people who feel wronged by the person’s death.

Furthermore, wrongful death cases can hold those responsible for what went wrong to a level of accountability that only the law can enforce. Whether their consequences are to implement better safety precautions to prevent future cases, to shut down an operation or practice, or bring criminal charges against a person or group of people, David Law Group will fight to bring justice to any wrongful death case.
